Congratulations to the December member of the month: Emily Birkett!
Emiiy joined us at 1827 when her office in Ottawa was closed due to COVID and everyone having to work from home. With Emily being a regular CrossFitter before joining us, she quickly became an amazing member of our community and one of our most dedicated members. Emily has been in the communited club every month since she joined us, and even attended 39 classes in December just before we closed! Emily was able to attend so frequently because she never missed an Oly class and came out to mobility and yoga weekly! Thanks to her impressive consistency, Emily added big numbers to EVERY single one of her lifts, PR-ing her Clean, C&J, Snatch, Deadlift, Press and Squat in our week of testing just before lockdown.
Not only is Emily super dedicated, but she is also a very positive and fun person, she always has a smile on! Emily is also super coachable and everyone loves having her in class. Emily also went out of her way to gather the members for a very generous and amazing Christmas gift for Amber and myself (Along with Jen Mason, a past member of the month!). Organizing and collecting such an awesome gift really made mine and Ambers Holiday! We are very lucky to have Emily as a member at 1827 and I hope she doesn’t get called back into the office anytime soon!

How did you get started into CrossFit: in 2019, my co-worker brought me to try a class at her gym in Ottawa after I mentioned to her that I wanted to get FIT! (It worked lol)

Least Favourite Movement(s): the assault bike 10000%!!! It is my worst enemy…
