September Member of the Month: Kora Mayotte

Congratulations to the September of the Month: Kora Mayotte!

Kora joined us just over a year ago with previous CrossFit experience so she was able to jump right into the crazy group of 6am-ers! Kora did her first competition last September while pregnant with her second son Cooper at the Festivus Games in Burlington. Since giving birth she quickly jumped (but a little slowly at first) back into classes and was ready to tackle her second competition at the Festivus Games in Collingwood this September! Placing 5th in her division and topping the many CrossFit 1827(/BeechHill) teams registered!

Not only did she crush that competition 3 months postpartum, but with 2 young boys at home Kora also almost took the top position for Septembers committed club, coming to 21 classes! Quite the feat to be coming to that many 6am and even some 5am classes! Thanks to her dedication and hard work, Kora has been on a steady PR train, Pr-ing all her lifts on our last strength cycle test week! Of the 6 PRs, a 100# Strict Press and 200# Back Squat, are quite outstanding numbers. Her consistency shows and it is why she is well deserving of the member of the month!

How did you get into CrossFit: I was bored with my usual workout routine and needed a change to help me lose the baby weight I gained in my first pregnancy. CrossFit was the breath of fresh air I needed.
